Wow...its been forever since the last post. Since visiting my parents in Florida...what...in march i think...a whole lot has happened. I'll try and give a condensed update.
While we were in Florida in March...I received my results from my MRI (Back problems since November)...which indicated that I had a herniated disc that had broken off and then herniated again. I met with a neurosurgeon in April...and decided that the best option for me was to go ahead and have back surgery...because there was pieces of disc floating in my spinal cord area and there really wasn't much disc left...I had to have the 2 lowest vertebrae fused together(screws & plates). As you know this was a hard decision because the postop period is long and really not conducive to having 2 little babies. But GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! He took care of everything...my babies were well taken care of and most importantly it was a successful surgery. I had to wait till May to have the surgery...when my parents could take care of the babies for a month. We had already planned a getaway weekend to Las Vegas and they were already coming to OK to watch the babies so, i planned the surgery right after we returned from our trip. It was the best thing...the babies were able to spend a few days with JuJu and Bumpa here...then they went back with them to Tampa for the the month of May.
I had my back surgery May 7th and it went great. I was so at peace...and not an ounce of nervousness. I was up and walking by that same night...and walking several miles a day 1 week postop. Although it was hard to have the babies away...I truly don't think I would have done so well with having to worry about them as well as getting rest and well myself. Our LifeGroup was amazing and took care of us...as well as family and other friends. We truly are blessed!!! They had a wonderful time with my parents in Florida and we got to skype pretty often. Thankyou JuJu and Bumpa for loving and taking care of our babies when we weren't able to. I know it was hard to bring them back!
I am now 6 weeks postop and still doing great...I'm in a back brace for at least 3 months...which isn't much fun during the summer! The babies came back the first week of June and are sooooo big. The first week they were home...Daniel was off and we just had an amazing week of family time and getting used to having kids again. Boy did we miss them...but Iwould have to say we enjoyed the month to reconnect and just spend time together...it truly was a blessing that not many people with kids get.
Update on the babies...
COOP will be 2 in August...says tons of words...and is full of energy. Just last night we were playing basketball in his room and he was seriously shooting the basketball with almost perfect form...it was amazing. I have no clue where he learned it...I think he was taking notes watching the NBA Finals. Since he's been home...he is a little more calm....if you've ever been around Cooper, you know he is a force...his teachers at church nicknamed him a "Bulldozer" from the time he was crawling. Anyway...he has matured so much...but still a 22 month old. ;)
Tennyson will be 1 in July. My sweet little girl came back with quite a little attitude with lots and lots of drama...she brings such joy to our family. She has started to walk this week...so, I'm a busy mama!
Here are some pics from the last few months.
Vegas...awesome getaway before surgery...daniel got to see the Hatton vs Pacquiao Fight. Although Hatton brutally lost...we had a great time with Jon & Amanda...our best friends from Louisiana
My blue eyed beauty!!!
Babies playing in their new kitchen...Coop loves to make "hot coffee" or Bumpa's Tea.
priceless Bro & Sis pic...Coop driving and Tennyson trying to bail out...what a crazy driver.
Cutest babies in the world!!!
I'm going to try and keep this blog more updated in the future!
