Wow...I know this is a little late...but the few days prior to Thanksgiving were crazy...and unfortunately, I haven't even touched the computer since I think last Monday...so, I wanted to catch up with my blogging.
Monday prior to Thankgiving...Tennyson started showing signs of CROUP...ughh! Cooper had just gotten over it and I seriously thought she would make it untouched. well...since she is so little her airways are super small and she struggled big time to breath...throughout Monday night Daniel and I switched off holding her on the back porch for 20 minutes (the cold air is supposed to relieve the swelling of the airways) by 4am...the back porch rocking wasn't working anymore and she was getting worse. i ended up taking her to the ER...we walked right in and they started immediate breathing treatments...when they were putting the iv in her head...i about passed out...i was super hot and ended up throwing up in the trash can(so, who was the patient? just kidding) after a sip of water...i was good...the nurse said...you wouldn't believe how often that happens. great! they ended up transferring Tennyson to St. Francis Children's hospital by ambulance...they couldn't get her heartrate to slow down and her breathing was increasingly getting worse. she was held in the Pediatric ICU for about 6 hours...given 2 steroid treatments and she was finally able to breathe and ultimately able to rest. we stayed over night...and she did well throughout the stay. we got to leave about 10am on wednesday...just in time for Thanksgiving. I am thankful she is doing better and is back to her happy self!
Thanksgiving was very laid back...we ended up frying a turkey and just having turkey sandwiches and chips...now, that's a "dressed-down" meal!!! we were just not in the mood for all the work and energy a big huge meal would take...it was perfect!!!
I'm so thankful for all that the LORD has blessed me with...this year has been the greatest year ever...2 beautiful kids...celebrated 5 years of married life with the most amazing husband and father...celebrated my 30th birthday (ok...i'm only partly thankful for that ;) ..I'm thankful for the best family...parents (on both sides) that love and support us...a great brother-in-law who is going to do great things in the future...a dream job-staying home taking care of my family...and last but not least...my relationship with Jesus...who loves me unconditionally...despite my sometimes flakiness.

Storytime
Cooper loves his books. every day he will sit in tennyson's bouncy chair and just "read" for a long time...he doesn't sit still for very long doing other stuff...but this activity he will just sit there till he's "read" all his books. here are some pics of him reading to tennyson...she loves to watch him. i catch her cracking up at him often throughout the day.

What a weekend!
Friday was a great day...it began with both babies taking morning naps at the same time!!! woohoo!!! Me and the babies went to the mall after lunch...tennyson rode in the stroller the whole time without crying at all...first time ever! we ran around to several different stops...apple store (new iphone for daddy...it was a surprise)...gap (i needed some new pants that weren't maternity pants)...chick-fil-a (i was running on 1 cup of coffee)...and last but not least...the playground...where i managed to chase an escaping cooper about a million times...apparently he thought radio shack would be more fun to play in. we made it home for nap times...again, naps together...i can only hope this isn't a one day occurrence...during naptime...i got ready for a date night with my husband...we were celebrating our 5 year anniversary a night early...papa was watching cooper and grandma was watching tennyson. when daniel got home...he said go get ready and pack a bag...we're "goin' out!!!" YEAH...but wait...i have to prepare everything for a night/morning away from the babies! i was thankful for the surprise...but could i have at least had a few hours to organize? oh well...they were fine with papa and grandma...tennyson got to spend the night with grandma...and was spoiled big time...the same went for cooper...papa loves to spoil coop!
so, daniel and i had a wonderful dinner (including a bottle of great wine) at the Polo grill and spent the night at the Ambassador Hotel in downtown Tulsa. We got up on our anniversary and had an amazing breakfast at Savoy...the Cinnamon Rolls...yummy! We headed to the mall to activate daniel's new iphone.
When we got home...cooper wasn't feeling great...started getting croupy and just feeling yucky...if you've spent some time with cooper...he's always happy...even when he's sick.
Sunday we ended up taking him to the pediatric ER because he was really croupy and couldn't breathe very well...after waiting like 3.5 hours we were seen for less than 5 minutes and he was given a steroid to relieve the swelling in his airway...good thing he wasn't dying! this was the 3rd time we've been to the ER with Cooper...i hate to say that it probably won't be our last with our little man.
that evening...daniel had to run an errand...while he was gone...i noticed our fridge was making a weird sound...and everything in the fridge wasn't as cold as usual...so, with a sick boy...and not so happy tennyson...i had to move everything out of our inside fridge to the garage"beer" fridge...gggrrrr! that was not what i wanted to be doing...oh well...now, i can get the new fridge i've been wanting forever. the dying fridge, we bought right before we got married...it was used and was already 10 years old...but hey...can't beat $100! it served us well for the last 5 years...RIP!!

punkin' patch
last weekend we visited the local punkin' patch...it wasn't quite the pumpkin patch experience i remember growing up...but it was close to home...free... and had lots of pumpkins for cooper to touch and "try to eat"...he didn't know what to do with so many pumpkins! Thanks Papa for keeping up with him! Tennyson didn't have as much fun...it was super windy and caught her breath most of the time...but when it wasn't windy...she loved just being outside trailing brother in the stroller.
we ALL wished the fall lasted all year 'round!

sleep
WE LOVE SLEEP!!!
last night tennyson slept through the night!!! she ate at 7:30...was asleep and in bed by 8...i snuck in a few ounces (sleep and feed) at 10...and she slept till 7:00am!!! unfortunately, mama didn't sleep well...had a few weird dreams and kept waking up thinking she was screaming. anyway...we are on our way to full nights sleep for mama and baby!
this is a picture of tennyson sleeping in her swing...woohoo!!! we had the swing out when she was first born...she would swing all the time...then with the onset of the reflux at 2 weeks...she hated being put into anything other than her bed...or someone's arms....so we put the swing away. this weekend in the nursery at church...she swung in their swing most of the time and even slept in it...so, i decided to bust out the swing and try it again. she loved it. she would sit and swing content in front of the window... and even fell asleep a few times. the only thing we have to work on is getting cooper to keep his hands off "T-T". he likes to swing her...which is a little rough...but she doesn't mind only when he "pokes" her.
So, bring on the sleep!!!

My little girl is 2 Months
If you haven't noticed...she favors Daniel in more ways than me. Those are Daniel's white legs and she blends in. She is completely opposite to Cooper's features. She is white...long...skinny. Cooper is dark...stubby...not fat...but stocky! ;)
