Tennyson is HERE!!!

Tennyson Grace Housley was born this morning at 11:30am weighing 7lbs 1oz...20.5in long.  She is beautiful and already eats like a champ!

We arrived at the hospital at 7:00am this morning...I would have to say...I love having an appointment to give birth!  But Tennyson was going to come today whether she was induced or not.  I was already in prelabor with contractions 5-7 minutes apart.  The Dr. got here right at 9am and broke my water and the contractions started picking up and getting way more intense...I was a little nervous that i wasn't going to get my epidural in time.  The wonder shot got here about 10:15...and I was feeling great by 11:00...but about 11:15...i was feeling the push...tennyson was wanting to make a quick exit...unfortunately, she had to wait for the dr...only a few intense pushes and there she was!!!

I feel great and still can't believe I gave birth to a little girl today.  time to get some sleep before the next feeding...more pics to come.

34 hours till showtime

what a day...i believe tennyson knows the time is drawing near...the contractions today have been just a little more intense...but not regular...and it seems she protests each time.  i just can't wait to see her.  i have a dr's appt. in the morning so, we'll see if there is any progress and how everything is looking for tuesday.  i'll keep you all posted.

3 days....

that's it...3 days...can you believe it?  daniel asked today..."is there anything we need to do on our last weekend with one child?"  i said..."nope"!  its actually been really nice knowing pretty much everything is done...bag is packed...everything regarding cooper's care while in the hospital is organized...my toes are painted...and i just got a haircut today!  so, i'm ready to get this show on the road!!!

now we just wait...i would have to admit its hard not having anything else on my checklist to do.  well...let me take that back...i've been spending a little of my free time in the last few day...planning cooper's 1st birthday.  i can't believe he's turning 1...but then again when i think about it in reference to having my second...i can't believe he isn't already 1...if you know what i mean....

anyway...it makes it even harder with 101 degree weather to just hang out and wait.  you would think after enduring the heat wave last year i would have learned to ride out the end of a pregnancy sometime in the winter...but OH NO...guess we should have thought about that too way back in November (among other things...wink...wink)!  all i have to say is...3 more days!

5 DAYS UNTIL...

  • i can hold my sweet little girl
  • i will not be pregnant (as you can see...i didn't say i won't be FAT...hopefully i can put that on my "in 6 mo list"!)
  • i can sleep on my stomach
  • i can save on toilet paper...i won't have to pee every 15 minutes!!!
  • i can have a big ass margarita
  • i can paint my toe nails without passing out from holding my breath
  • i can officially say i've had 2 babies in 1 year!
I'm sure there are lots more...i'll probably continue to add to the list as the days pass.

Tennyson Grace...coming soon!

I had my weekly Dr. appointment this morning...everything is looking good with Miss T. Head down...lots of fluid...dilated to a 1.5-2ish...feeling contractions but not regular. We have set up an induction date for next Tuesday at 7am!!! That's if she doesn't come earlier than that. I'm super excited and glad that she'll be delivered by my OB. (Unless she decides to come tomorrow...when of course he isn't on call.)

So, mark your calendars...Tennyson Grace will be born on or before July 29th.)

Miss Tennyson's Nursery

HERE IT IS!!!
Most of you know that I'm truly NOT a girly girl...I just started wearing pink in the last few years.  So, having a girl is going to be an adventure for me...thanks to my friend Bridgette...Tennyson won't be dressed in Cooper's hand-me-downs or just in green and yellow stuff.  When it came to the nursery decorating...my mindset was to get everything cheap...who cares if it matched.  (I know...2nd child syndrome already)  I was so inspired with cooper's room that I truly felt bad every time I even thought about decorating Miss T's room.  So, I busted out the Pottery Barn Baby catalog (as well as researched many hours online) and tried to find some inspiration I could do for CHEAP!!!  I loved the birdhouse theme...so, I started my plan.  I got the crib and changing table on craigslist for dirt cheap...And can you believe it...there is TONS of PINK in her room!!!  Who would have ever thought!  Here are some pics.  (We still have move the rocking chair from Cooper's room and if I have time I'll maybe sew a quick slipcover for it...but my time is running out

The birdhouses were cut in half by my wonderful husband...and painted...don't be fooled...to save on time...the letters were modge podged...I LOVE THAT STUFF!!!!

The mobile is made from little shabby chic birdhouses...i painted the bottoms different colors...hopefully to make them a little more interesting when Tennyson is lulled to sleep.  The bedding is the Wendy Bellissimo Pink Swirl that I broke down and bought...I'm surprised its so girly...but I LOVE IT!
I painted these little canvases to bring the "birds" into the room.  I will have to admit...I got this inspiration from a friend's nursery...a few of them look very similar...but not "copied" I promise...thanks Megan.

These are the front half of the birdhouses.  I replaced the little pegs so I can hang stuff. The picture beneath the birdhouses is a little collage of 3D pics of Tennyson...and personalized. Thank you so much Bridgette.
This is one of my favorite parts of the room.  I was planning on painting some kind of tree on canvas or something.  Well...in my researching...I found this really cool site that does vinyl decals...they are super cool and have so many designs.  this tree is perfect and matches her bedding perfectly.  thanks mom for your help sticking this huge sticker on!!!

Now we just wait...wait for her arrival.  I'm so pleased at how this turned out...and glad I got it done before she shows up!  I know some were worried!

Cooper is walking!!!!

Cooper is walking and we finally got it on film. Now, forgive me for the rough filming (still getting the hang of it.) I can't believe he is 11 months and walking! woohoo!!!
